GlossaryUpscaling

What is Upscaling?

Increasing the resolution of a generated clip or image.

Definition

Upscaling raises the resolution of an image or video — for example from 720p to 1080p or 4K — recovering or synthesizing detail so the output holds up on larger screens. Higher resolution usually costs more to render.

How it works in Ekly

Ekly prices by resolution, so you can draft cheaply at a lower resolution and only render at 1080p or 4K when a clip is worth finishing.
